Anyone interested in volunteering with the parks is required to be a member of the Friends organization, due to liability insurance coverage. To begin this process, it is necessary to complete a Friends Orientation. Thank you for completing this first step!

To your scheduled orientation, you will need to bring with you an ID for fingerprinting and your dues. Your $10 dues must be paid at orientation by either cash or check, dues for seniors over 65 is $5.

Once you have completed an orientation, the Lorain County Metro Parks requires all volunteers to complete a background check/fingerprinting and in some instances additional training with park staff.
